Ellersiek Games: Working With Parents and the Very Young Child
We will learn developmental movements in the form of finger plays, loving touch, rhyming verse and singing in the mood of the fifth. This body of work offers movement and speech development as well as opportunities to develop a healthy life sense. These delightful and engaging plays were created by Wilma Ellersiek and translated into English by Kundry Willwerth. We will practice each game so that you are able to teach them to the parents. Transitions are often the most challenging times for parents and teachers. Our focus will be using the plays for transitions throughout the day and will include a sequence that could be used as a part of a bedtime or naptime ritual.
